Autodesk University (AU) is widely known as one of the largest AEC conferences and expos in the world. Drawing upwards of 11,000 attendees, it’s not to be missed.
To kick things off, on Tuesday morning, Gabe and Clay will be running the annual Autodesk 5K with hundreds of other attendees. That’s about all the fresh air we’ll have time for since we’ve got a lot going on inside the Sands. Whether it’s at our booth (AE290) or one of our events, we hope to see you in Vegas. Read on to learn about all the stuff we’ve got going on next week at AU.
Our home base for AU this year is at the Expo at Booth AE290, right by the Construction & Fabrication Quad. We’ll be doing live demos of The Wild on both Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S. Plus, we’ll be live streaming demos on a big screen for those who don’t want to get in a headset.
We’ll be showing off our full immersive collaboration platform and how it fits into your BIM workflow. We’ll demonstrate, in real time, how easy it is to get your model into The Wild and experience it together at human-scale in virtual reality.

We’ve got something special planned for this year’s Blogger and Social Media Meetup at the Venetian on Tuesday night, November 19th, from 8-11 p.m. Toronto-based VR artist Samantha Luck will be joining us in The Wild to create your “digital twin” by using our sketch tool to draw portraits of party guests. We gave it a test run this week, and, well, you’ll have to see it to believe it.
We’re thrilled to be participating in a live event with Rick Kremer from Applied Software. His AU session, Experience 360-Degree Virtual Reality for As Little As $4.99, will be held on November 21st at 9:15 a.m. Attendees will watch on a big screen, Rick will be in an Oculus Quest in front of the live audience, and Mischa (our product manager) will be joining in The Wild and showing off all our tools from an HTC VIVE VR headset at our Portland office.
