The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Optimizing models for great performance on the Quest

Since the Oculus Quest has a mobile processor and isn’t tethered to a high-powered PC, you’ll want to optimize your models for the best experience possible. Whether you’re importing from Revit or SketchUp, several factors can affect file size, including textures, model scale, complex geometry, and file composition.

As a general rule, keep your models small — complex models with large amounts of geometry are better viewed from a more powerful headset like the Oculus Rift S or HTC Vive. By starting small, and testing out progressively larger section boxes or models, you'll find the limits of your particular file on the Quest.  

We're continually optimizing The Wild to support any model from any device, but for now, here are some guidelines to help you optimize your models for Oculus Quest:

Revit

Check out this "Best Practices for Revit" article to learn how you can quickly reduce the size of your 3D model, or follow this guide on how to set up a design review for a large Revit model. Using section boxes, and hiding non-essential, repeating high-poly objects like sinks and toilets can go a long way in making your model more performant.

SketchUp

Reducing the number of Groups and Components in your model will improve performance. A quick way to do this is to combine all objects into a single group—this way, you'll still be able to interact with all Components once you are in The Wild (just use the Group tool to ungroup them in VR). We also really like Skimp for easy reduction of poly counts right inside SketchUp.

Third-Party Optimization Tools

There are countless third-party apps and plugins that automate the process of simplification and optimization. Here are a few of our favorite ones:

PIXYZ-Studio
A desktop app that allows you to reduce, tessellate, and optimize CAD data.

Skimp for SketchUp
A great plugin to quickly reduce complexity of models in SketchUp.

Simplygon
A free, cloud-based solution that allows for more advanced operations like re-meshing, aggregation, reduction, view-based culling, and texture baking.

In addition, there are many optimization tools available to you if you are using 3ds Max or Maya, such as "Optimize" modifiers that will quickly reduce the poly-count of your model.
